Here is a rough guide of hook size type:
- Size 1/0,1,2 are good for catfish, small or largemouth bass, carp

- Size 4/0 to 6/0 are great for regular surf fishing and bottom fishing; and are good for bigger catfish, pike, pompano, offshore porgies¡¯, sea bass, general size grouper, flounder, halibut, redfish, stripped bass, yellowtail, snapper
